Tyler Crump
Aspiring Gameplay Programmer
Game Design and Development student at Macquarie University, building gameplay systems in Unity and C#. Java is my strongest language.
Selected work
- A Course in Time 2D time-switching puzzle-adventure, in Early Access on itch.io. Producer and team leader, most of the gameplay code, the save system and all the audio.
- Waking Nightmare VR game for Meta Quest made with LiminalVR and released on itch.io. Creative director, programmer and main headset tester.
- Undergrowth Mycorrhizal idle-builder: grow a fungal network under burnt bushland. Built solo, with self-linking buildings and auto-upgrading Weavers.
- Tabi Live group travel planner, built solo and being tested by friends on our Japan trip, with an AI planning assistant and automated tests in CI.
- Fighting game prototypes The Sword Saint, a custom character and moveset, plus a night bridge stage with rain and lightning.
- Abandoned house Sterile-dystopian scene patrolled by a robot vacuum with a teddy bear rider. Team of four; most of the assets, animation and layout are mine.
How I work
- Agile teams
- Agile workflow with tasks tracked in Jira and day-to-day communication in Discord.
- Version control
- A Git branch per feature (sub-branches for major work), merged into a testing branch before going live. One person owns each feature set, so we avoid conflicts.
- Testing
- Automated API and browser tests on every pull request for Tabi, and hands-on headset playtesting for Waking Nightmare.
- Documentation
- I write technical docs, READMEs and design docs alongside the code.
